How to connect your Google Ads account to your Business account? (to use location/map extensions)

Linking Google Ads and Google My Business:

1. Sign in to Your Google Ads Account:

Go to Google Ads.

2. Sign in using the Google account associated with your Google Ads account.

3. Access Your Google My Business Account:

  • Open a new tab and go to Google My Business.
  • Sign in using the Google account associated with your Google My Business account.
  • Navigate to "Linked Accounts" in Google Ads:
  • In Google Ads, click on the tools icon (wrench) in the top right corner.
  • Under "Setup," click on "Linked accounts."

Link Google My Business:

  • Look for "Google My Business" in the list of available services.
  • Click on "Details" next to Google My Business.
  • Choose Locations:
  • Click on the blue "Link" button.
  • Choose the Google My Business account you want to link to your Google Ads account.

Confirm the Link:

Click on "Next" and confirm the linking process.

You might be required to sign in again with your Google My Business credentials.


Verify the Link:

Once linked, you should see the status as "Active" in the "Linked accounts" section.


Enable Location Extensions (Optional):

In Google Ads:

After linking, go to your Google Ads campaign.

Click on "Ads & Extensions."

Add Location Extensions:

Click on the "+" button to add extensions.

Choose "Location extensions" and select the linked Google My Business account.

Save Changes:

Save your changes, and location extensions will now show your business address with your ads.


Important Considerations:

Ensure you have the necessary permissions to link accounts.

Make sure your Google My Business account has the correct location information.

Keep in mind that linking may take some time to propagate across both platforms.
